Searching for Specific Products

If you already have a retail store established, chances are you have a specific brand that you are trying to expand upon. Adding new items to your current inventory is an easy process with SaleHoo Directory. Here’s how it’s done.

Let’s suppose you own a retail shop that sells sunglasses. You’re located in North America and would like to find a supplier close enough to you to keep shipping costs as low as possible.

Within SaleHoo Directory, begin by doing a keyword search for “sunglasses.” You’ll be presented with results that are pulled from the inventory lists of our trusted suppliers. From here, you can filter your search by item category, supplier type, shipper location, minimum order cost, tax ID requirements, and whether or not the supplier ships worldwide.

In the picture below we’ve filtered our search to North American wholesalers. Since you are trying to find products for your retail establishment, you’ll want to focus on wholesale suppliers, but may also choose manufacturers or liquidators depending on your business model.

Above we can see that the filtered search has pulled up 5,290 different items relating to home fragrances and 112 suppliers. You can also change the view of your search results by switching between the “Products” or “Suppliers” tab. From here, pick the item that most interests you and contact the supplier for more details.

Once you’ve found the suppliers that you are interested in, you’ll want to review their websites and contact them for more information around delivery times, potential shipping fees, price negotiations, sample products, and more.

SaleHoo makes contacting suppliers incredibly easy. We provide you with the phone numbers and emails of suppliers, and have recently launched a new chat feature where you can chat directly with available suppliers. This provides the perfect way to keep in touch with suppliers while you are on the go.

SaleHoo Tip: Need some advice on how to communicate with suppliers like an eCommerce pro? Check out this helpful article and contact suppliers with confidence.

We also try to provide as much information about the supplier as possible, so that you can feel comfortable when making first contact with them and building a relationship. Information such as warehouse address, minimum order requirements, years in business, and company website, in addition to a general overview, will help you find the supplier that is right for you.

Nevertheless, always keep in mind that with any business, things can change quickly, so be sure to contact suppliers for the most up-to-date information.

SaleHoo Tip: Suppliers don’t typically advertise their cheapest prices online, so we highly encourage you to contact them, explain what you are looking for and discuss your pricing expectations. Be sure to plan ahead for any shipping fees, sample products, freight forwarding services, etc.

Now that you’ve contacted a few suppliers, give them 2-3 days to respond and select the one that suits you best. You can arrange for the supplier to ship the products directly to your store or to any other warehouse facility that you may have established. It’s that simple!
